Bedroom Furniture On Display - Virtual Tour

Edinburgh Furniture Shop

So eventually the rain subsided the other day in Edinburgh so that I could get on with the first 2 of many 3D 360 Degree Virtual shoots of my very first Shop.

The reasons for this shoot were simple
  • Allow potential customers to see we are a real company
  • Showcase some of the furniture available and their true colours
  • Give you a look at my little store if you are unable to visit
  • Save competitors popping in without feeling awkward
  • Basically I thought it was a cool idea

  • Allow potential customers to see we are a real company.
If you've not heard of Urbane furniture, which is highly likely as the furniture shop only opened in May 2010, then you may be dubious in making any purchase from us or even wasting your time looking at the web site.

There are many horror stories around regarding furniture shops mistreating customers, fake internet companies using the same images but delivering something of a lot lesser quality, if anything at all.

Customers waiting 12-16 weeks to get there prepaid furniture, it then arriving damaged and having no direct point of contact to remedy the issue.

And so on...

See our reviews here that just some of our customers have been kind enough to leave.
  • Showcase some of the furniture available and their true colours
Urbane furniture has chosen only reputable furniture manufacturers to deal with, this in turn means that quality, finish, packaging and reliability is of the highest standard and more or less always the same.

Although Urbane furniture has only been trading for just over a year these manufacturers have been in business for decades and are renowned in the industry.

Said manufacturers have photo shoots of all their furniture pieces however the lighting and settings often don't tell the whole truth regarding the exact colour and finish of an item.

Obviously with real wood you are going to get slight variations in colour but generally the tone of the furniture is always the same.

  • Give you a look at my little store if you are unable to visit
In the hustle and bustle of every day life not everyone has the luxury of spending a few days trailing around furniture shops.

Trying to find that bedroom furniture set, dining room furniture set or what ever it may be becomes a tedious affair after visiting 5 or more stores.

What should be a pleasure ends up being a mission, believe me I've seen many customers in my 16 or so years selling furniture end up falling out, arguing or storming off in a huff.

Or you may live to far away to come and visit the furniture shop in Edinburgh but still want to have a wee look around.

  • Save competitors popping in without feeling awkward

Obviously if you're on the ball you need to keep up with what other furniture shops are up to, check that your prices are competitive, your stock is as varied and that your point of sale tickets are in par with others.

In saying that you don't want to be a sheep with no ideas and basically just imitating some one else, as lack of imagination often has you loosing sight of what you are actual goal is.

At Urbane furniture we often get competitors popping in, actually taking  furniture signage, using point of sale ideas/promo's and generally just being nosey.

This is all just fine but I don't want them feeling awkward in my store, I like a relaxed happy atmosphere to work in, keep stress to a minimum hence you never get the hard sell in Urbane furniture, so this virtual tour idea helps solve some of these issues.

  • Basically I thought it was a cool idea
In this fast moving technological world that we all live you need to move with the times and try and keep up with new and fast moving trends.

This is why the virtual tour was taken on and will keep growing with other video shoots and new technology break throughs

Blogging - great for having a wee rant, letting people know a little bit more about what's happening and giving more information about who you are and what you do.

Facebook - I was never a big fan of face book to be honest, I thought it was for people who never had real friends or never got out much. I must say I've changed my tune on this, it's a great way of updating customers, friends and relatives of what's come in to store each week, become involved in local events and basically have a good nosey too see what everyone else is up to.

Twitter - again I was never a fan of twitter and people tweeting, who cares if you've just had a cup of tea with a scone and jam .. mmm. But just like facebook it helps you keep in touch with what's going on around you, it's like texting a message but free and it also helps your online marketing by growing awareness of your business, which is the ultimate goal in all these social networking sites for businesses.
So there we go keep up and succeed or fall behind and fail the choice is simple.
