Furniture Deliveries from Urbane furniture in Edinburgh
Each week I tell you about furniture arriving at the Edinburgh furniture shop.
But what is it that we actually sell?
What are our beloved customers buying?

How long is it actually taking to receive the delivery once we order the goods?
To be honest I can only reveal so much as we don't want our competitors near and far knowing too much or they'll be jumping on the band wagon as some are already doing!!

So this month the Edinburgh Furniture Shop saw the sale of our first Gorilla, :(
Sad to see him go but we already had his twin brother on route, and with our first store being of a moderate size (i.e. fairly small) we had no room for 2!
These life size Silverback Gorilla's come all the way from the Philippines and take 12-16 weeks to manufacture and deliver.
The mental thing is, is that on the Monday we sold him, Tuesday the new Gorilla arrived, Aaron and I unwrapped him as Tuesday is father/son day and then on Wednesday a guy comes in wanting to buy him?? 2 in one week?? Crazy - I thought I was the only daft one out there wanting a full size Gorilla - obviously not!

Back to the more popular stuff and as mentioned this sort of information is gold dust to the trade so I will be conservative with what I put here, nothing to hide but knowledge is power so I can reveal only so much.
The Nevis Ash Bedroom furniture collection is always popular, no beds sold this month but a few tall chest of drawers, wide chest of drawers and bedsides. Sold to new and repeat customers within the Edinburgh bypass, with local delivery of only £20 into the room of your choice some customers jumped at this offer, the others collected the bedsides + tall narrow chests from the store as they fit in most cars.
Here we have the new Edinburgh Oak Bedroom set, I sold 4 full bedroom sets (bed,bedsides,chests + Wardrobes) to one customer who saved over £600 buying them all in one go.Made from 100% Solid Oak tops, fronts and sides with pine internals and hardboard backs to keep costs down this oak bedroom range is perfect for the first time buyer, spare room or flat lets as they look great but are extremely good value.
Next we have the Cramond Oak Bedroom furniture, a reclaimed look/rustic American red oak bedroom furniture, just a couple of chests of drawers this month, an x demo 2+3 Chest and a couple of the tall narrow chests which I gave £50 off selling them at only £299 Brand new, compared to a near by competitor with 3 stores selling them at £379. Customers from Linlithgow, Edinburgh + Currie.
Other sellers were:
Torridon Oak Kingsize Bed - VERY Solid Oak Bed, Chunky with sanded corners, yet to get this on the website but it's in store and looks great on display.
As with the Nevis Ash Bedroom furniture, the Braemar Painted/Ash tops and handles collection is always popular and a repeat customer bought the double wardrobe with drawer at the base.
They called me today about assembly so I am off to their house first thing Saturday (tomorrow morning before we open) to help put it together.
It's dead simple, fold out the sides, screw the back and top on job done, customer is on his own tomorrow so I offered my services as they are only around the corner from the store.
Another painted bedroom set, actually 2 painted furniture set sales came from the Whitehall collection, this delicate white bedroom furniture collection comes fully assembled and has some nice frett work detailing at the top of the chests and bedsides, with bedsides starting at £69 and Chest of drawers at only £199 it's another perfect bedroom furniture collection for those with smaller budgets. Not just that they look completely different from anything else on the high street at the moment.
Oh and of course we sold the last of the St Andrews Dark Oak Bedroom collection to a couple for their spare room, triple wardrobe, mirror and chest of drawers, a discontinued collection which they got at a steal of a price!
Not a lot dining stuff sold this month, a couple of sideboards, Ash and red Oak Dining tables with chairs a couple of American White oak Extending tables with chairs and a cool Stockholm very trendy and dare I say it retro dining set which is pictured below:
Tonight I am delivering this Cramond Dresser to Cupar in Fife, the Kingdom as the locals like to refer to it. An Evening delivery as the customer works everyday and weekend deliveries fill up fast, however, they did say they could wait until later in the month as they weren't in a hurry but I like to get my furniture to my customers as quickly as possible. This quality Red Oak Dresser from the extensive red oak Cramond Collection seems to be a popular fellow, bought over the internet from our web site www.urbanefurniture.com the process for the customer was very simple and convenient, the joys of shopping from your home :)
As ever console tables in all the collections we do sold well this month, I brought in a small Red Oak console table and it sold within the week so guess I'll need to get a couple more.
Clocks, chrome Crabs (yes crabs) kids chairs, mirrors, Coat stands, Planters and the popular monks bench all sold this month. The 3'0" Monks Bench seems the popular although I do have the 4'0" on display in the Edinburgh store if you want to pop in and see it.

ALL of the goods listed here and many others were delivered within the time quoted at point of sale (1-4 weeks depending on item, stocks and delivery schedules). Some people got they brand new goods within a couple of days and some customers waited 4 weeks.
The main thing is that everyone was told exactly what was happening, kept up to date with progress, given a delivery time slot and from the feed back and comments I have received EVERYONE is very happy with the goods and service, a returned mirror as it never suited the room it went in but that sometimes happens, all our returns are free and refunded or exchanged.
